A Mystical Interpretation of the Christmas Story

If you desire to have a more meaningful Christmas this year, join us and get your season started with an in-depth look at the inner meaning of Christmas and how we can enter into the experience of a truly spiritual holy season. Mystics interpret all the events in the life of Jesus and Mary as not only being literal events but also symbolizing each step along the spiritual path for those who desire transformation. In the Christmas story, not only do Jesus and Mary symbolize specific aspects of us, so do Joseph, the wise men, the shepherds, the star, the animals in the stable, and the stable itself.

Hello Meet-Up Members!

For the month of November and December we will be having a 6 week series called Introduction to Meditation and Christian Mysticism. This class series is open to people of all faiths. In it, we will be using the teachings of the inner Christian path (Christian mysticism) to explore what is possible in meditation. If you are interested in deepening your spiritual life, learning how to go deeper in meditation and experiencing a peace and love that is lasting and life changing, then you will love this series. The first Meet up will be held on Tuesday November 10th and we will have another one every Tuesday night for the next 5 weeks. You are welcome to come to one, many, or of all of them. The series is powerful and we look forward to welcoming you to it!

Mysticism refers to “the practice of knowing the reality of God through direct experience.” Christian mysticism refers to the Christian approach to this goal. Mysticism is certainly nothing new. It has always been at the core of every religion and represents a very heart-felt, inner way of worshiping God.

Most meditation classes offer techniques that will help you relax and concentrate. Relaxation and concentration are certainly helpful. And they are necessary in order to have a real experience in meditation. But they are not the essence of meditation. They are only the preliminaries. Meditation as taught through Christian mysticism is far deeper.

Welcome to this powerful 6 week Meet-Up series designed to help you delve into the peace and love that it is possible through meditation and the inner spiritual life. These Meet-Ups will be lighthearted and interactive. They will include lessons on: The Inner Spiritual Path, Meditation, Soul, Light, Prayer and Blessing. Time will be spent teaching the principles of meditation that will bring you deeper than the body, beyond thinking and emotions, into the reality of God within. And for those who are interested, you will be able to take a practice meditation home with you each week to work on independently.

This class meets once per month and is designed for the spiritual seekers looking to deepen their experience of peace and joy and expand their understanding of the spiritual truths taught by all of the religions. Each class will have two components. The first half of the class will focus on the art of meditation. It will include a guided meditation, followed by a practical discussion of how we can learn to deepen our meditative practice. The second half of the class will include a reading from the sacred text of one particular religion, a discussion of these teachings, and their practical modern-day application.
