Meditation Lessons for Beginners

Meditation is a spiritual practice that does not require a belief in any doctrine or theology. Anyone can benefit from its practice, regardless of cultural or religious affiliation. Meditation reduces stress and improves health, concentration, and focus. It is a tool for self-transformation that quiets the mind and leads to peace, tranquility, and wisdom.

For the beginning meditator, it can be difficult to know how to start and maintain a meditation practice. I offer these lessons to help the beginner on the path to a Peaceful Meditation.

The lessons are each 1 hour long and begin promptly at 7:30p. on Mondays beginning June 9th. There will be 1/2 hour prior for our group to commune quietly together (if we speak, it should be softly) and 1/2 hour after for comments, questions and to share with each other.

Special thanks to The Unitarian Fellowship of Houston! The Fellowship is located at 1504 Wirt Road in Houston's Spring Branch area. From Downtown Houston, go west on Interstate 10 to the Wirt Road exit. Go north on Wirt Road to 1504. Parking is available on the right-side of the church.

RSVP's are greatly appreciated.

"I began meditating because my habit of obsessing and stressing had torn my mind and body apart. I renewed my long time hatha yoga practice and once I began meditating I started to see benefits that I wanted to share with others. "
