Meet other local people who practice and integrate Buddhist teachings and practical social and environmental action. Started in 2006, approximately 5 -15 people attend an average meeting once month through our web site and a variety of media outlets.
We call ourselves the SOCIAL ACTION PROJECT. We integrate Buddhist teachings, practice and social service with human rights and health, ecology and justice. In addition, the Project reaches out beyond our spiritual community to coordinate social action with other local Buddhist denominations and world faiths.
Our social action focuses on the following spheres: Environment, Human Rights, Justice, Health, Poverty, Non-violence, Community and Democracy.
Who are we and our history? Founded in 2005, originally under the name of BUDDHA GAIA, which focused solely on environmental issues, we were renamed and organized as the Buddhist Social Action Project in late 2008. Members of the Project may or may not be members of the BFF of Ct or any other Buddhist or Church group.
We hope you can join us and participate in our meet ups.
