It is possible to reduce stress and be calm and at peace. By being present to the moment, we are able to see situations as they really are and let go of the feelings of stress and anxiety when they arise.
Come and join us in an introduction to meditation and the practice of mindfulness. Our monthly weekend meetings are perfect for beginning or more experienced meditators. We begin with an introductory talk on what mindfulness meditation is, and how we can benefit from it. We then do a guided meditation, and have time for discussion, questions and answers. We conclude with refreshments and social time.
If you are already an experienced meditator, check the calendar for weeknight sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We continue to meet each week through the summer on Thursday evenings at 7:15 pm for meditation in the Baker Room at the First Unitarian Church in Shaker Heights. The format of this group is 15 minutes of walking meditation, followed by 45 minutes of sitting meditation. After the sitting meditation, we have a 45 minute time period for check in and discussion.
