Hi everyone,
A note about our last meeting on the 16th. We did a meditation that was sent to me by Lawrence Wollersheim who is the force behind website Integrative Spirituality. They are influenced by Ken Wilbers work but are doing some things their own way too. At 9 pages long I was a little nervous it might be to complicated for us to really sink into it, wrong. We read the whole thing before doing it (which took over an hour) and got into some interesting conversations but time was running out! Maybe it was all of that preparation, the actual meditation went really smooth and was pretty deep. We decided we definitely want to include it into the rotation of meditations we have been doing. I'll notify you when we are going to do it again, please download the meditation and review it before hand, I'm not sure we will read the whole thing again... Check it out in our Files section at http://meditation.mee... We've had 5 new members join in January so far! Welcome to Sasha, Kristin, Lisa Everhart, Anil Kota and Lin. Just a little recap from a previous email for our new members: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first meeting of the month will focus on basic meditation instruction and practice. The second meeting of the month will focus on 'beyond basic' meditation instruction and practice. Of course, no matter what level you self-identify everyone is invited to attend both meetings, really I mean that, but please understand beforehand what the focus will be. The first meeting of the month will probably focus on the DVD and practice of Integral Inquiry meditation. Don't fool yourself, Integral Inquiry is a rich and deep meditation and will take you months and years to fully explore. The second meeting of the month will probably focus on the 1-2-3 of God, Compassionate Exchange and Big Mind among other meditations that may not be part of the 'Integral Life Practice Kit' but still resonate with the Integral community and philosophy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ January has 5 Wednesdays which means our next meeting will be on Feb 6, to far away! :~) How about a Big Mind viewing on Jan 30th? It's a DVD that lasts 3 and a half hours and will give you a first hand experience of a very high state of consciousness. I'll put it on the calendar... From his website: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Big Mind Process Dennis Genpo Merzel Roshi, one of the preeminent Zen Masters in the Western world, has developed a unique and revolutionary approach for transmitting the authentic teachings that emerged from Buddha's enlightenment experience. With a mastery born of more than thirty years of teaching, Genpo Roshi has enabled thousands of participants in Big Mind workshops to gain profound insights and taste for themselves the illuminating experience from which Buddhism and all the world's great religions originate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
