Dear Meditation meetup group. My name is Jason. I've been registered with the group for a few weeks but due to life coming up with ways to get in the way I haven't been able to come yet but I really want to. I also want to introduce myself before jumping into an event with a bunch of strangers. So HI! I'm Jason. I've been meditating off and on for a number of years, and I'm in one of my off phases and want to get back into my on phase and would like to meet some people while doing it, so replies and further introductions would be nice!

hope to hear from as many of you as possible

Welcome! Just simply do it. I have more time if I meditate than not. It calms the mind.

Have you ever heard of Alan Watts?

The intelligent person lives joyfully, contentedly, whatsoever situation he is in. Whatsoever he has, he lives joyfully, thankfully, gratefully. His joy is not dependant on any thing, om any outer cause. His joy is inner-understanding-understanding that fromt he outside one has never acheived joy, that from desires, one has always come to tears. Seeing this nature of desire, his desire has disappeared. And to live without desire is to live in contentment, is to live without hankering for more. Then whatsoever, is more than enough.

Either live in desire or live in gratitude.
