The Atlanta Meditation Meetup is open to anyone with an interest in meditation. This is not a meditation 'class' as such, and we do not promote any particular type of meditation or spiritual philosophy.

The goal of this group is to gather together people who are interested in exploring meditation in a friendly and nurturing environment where we can all share the techniques that we each find beneficial, ask for advice when needed, and learn from each other so that we all benefit, and hopefully improve the results we each achieve in our own meditation. All are welcome to attend--no matter if you are a beginner or have many years of experience.

During this month's meetup, Ray will lead a guided meditation, and we'll follow it up with a discussion, comments, sharing our experiences, etc.

Meetups begin at 2:00 pm. The length of the meetup will vary depending on the length of the CD we listen to and how much conversation follows, but we must be out of the room by 4:00 pm.

Note: The floor is carpeted with commercial carpteting--which is a bit hard, so you may want to bring a pillow to sit on or a blanket to lay on. There are chairs in the room available to sit on. Some people have commented that they find the room a bit cold, so if you tend toward feeling cold , you might want to bring a sweater or shawl.

No dress code, just dress comfortably.

Hi, it's good to know when there is going to be a lecture (even if it's a CD) vs. a meditation. I enjoyed the lecture I heard when I came, but it was not a meditation. It was a lecture 'about' meditating. I just think it's good to make that distinction. Thank you for putting this together. Oh, and yes, the room was freezing. I left early because of that.
